Our Story So Far

The John Burns Foundation was founded in 2006 with a simple but powerful vision: to create a lasting legacy of support, opportunity, and positive change within our communities.

Our founder, John Burns, has always held a strong belief in giving back and helping others. With a passion for improving lives and bringing people together, the Foundation was established to support both people and companion animals through meaningful projects, activities, and partnerships.

A significant milestone in our journey came in 2020 when we moved into our current home. This new chapter enabled us to expand our facilities, develop new services, and grow the range of support we offer. Since then, the Foundation has continued to evolve, creating welcoming spaces where people can learn, connect, build confidence, and improve their wellbeing.

While many people first discover us through our animal-focused activities, our work extends far beyond this.
